Tehran (IP) – Head of the Department of Environment (DOE) of Iran and the Minister of Climate Change and Environment of UAE signed a memorandum of understanding on environmental cooperation.

Iran PressIran News: The Regional Ministerial Meeting on "Environmental Cooperation for a Better Future" was held on the initiative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to examine the solutions to solve the environmental problems of the region, especially the problem of dust, with the participation of the ministers and senior officials from 11 countries of the West Asian region in Tehran.

President Ebrahim Raisi also attended the meeting.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Head of the DOE Ali Salajegheh and Minister of Climate Change and Environment of UAE Mariam Almheiri signed a memorandum of understanding on environmental cooperation between Iran and the UAE.

Noting that the environment is a regional pact between countries that can bring them closer together, Salajegheh stated that today's meeting showed that all the countries in the region have concluded that the issue of the environment is their priority.

He pointed out that Iran and the UAE have good experiences managing environmental challenges that they can share.

Criticizing the cruel Western sanctions against Iran, Salajegheh announced Iran's readiness to serve friendly and brotherly countries.

Regarding some of the most critical environmental hazards and their destructive effects on the region's countries, Almheiri said: "We can share our experiences and solutions to manage environmental challenges with each other and exchange our scientific and research achievements in this field."
