On Friday, Russia vetoed the resolution proposed by Western countries in the United Nations Security Council under the title of extending cross-border aid to Syria.

Iran PressAmerica: Russia has vetoed a UN Security Council resolution that would have extended cross-border aid to Syria by one year without Damascus’s backing.

Western countries have repeatedly sent weapons and equipment to terrorists in Syria under the cover of sending humanitarian aid.

The draft of this resolution was presented by the Republic of Ireland, and it was also supported by Norway, the United States, the UK and France.

By presenting this resolution, the Westerners sought to extend the sending of so-called humanitarian aid to Syria through the Turkish border without the supervision and authorization of the Syrian government.

Russia believes that sending so-called humanitarian aid to Syria through the Turkish border violates the sovereignty of Damascus. The Syrian government has also repeatedly emphasized that any aid delivery and distribution in this country should be done through the central government.

The crisis in Syria has started in 2011 with the massive invasion of terrorist groups supported by Saudi Arabia, the US and their allies to change the equations of the region in favor of the Zionist regime. 219
