Muscat (IP) - Ali Bagheri Kani, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, met with Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi in Muscat.

Iran PressMiddle East:  Ali Bagheri Kani, the political deputy of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arrived in Muscat, the capital of Oman, on Thursday morning to meet and talk with Omani officials.

Senior Iranian negotiator in JCPOA  talks met Omani FM Sayyid Badr Albusaidi in Muscat hours after his arrival.

Two sides discussed mutual relations as well as regional and international developments.

Bagheri notes mutual political trust between Tehran and Muscat, stressing that the two sides are determined to expand their cooperation in regional affairs further.

Bagheri Kani and Al-Busaidi also discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the recent visit of President Raisi to Oman. 

Bagheri highlighted the mutual trust between the two countries and noted that Iran focused on leading the trust to sustainable economic cooperation and stabilizing regional collaboration.   

The Omani foreign minister, for his part, emphasized the implementation of the agreements concluded between Tehran and Muscat.

Albusaidi referred to the trip to Oman by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in May 2022 and said that implementing agreements reached during that trip was crucial.

In the past few days, "Hossein Amir-Abdollahian," the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, had a telephone conversation with" Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, "the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman.

The relations between Iran and Oman in the last few decades, despite the tensions in the Persian Gulf and America's efforts to intensify Iranophobia, have always been based on mutual respect and interests.

Omani officials believe that close relations with Iran are based on realism and consider Iran a great neighbor.

The two countries do not have territorial, and border disputes with each other, and Iran's support for Oman has been positively and permanently imprinted in the historical memory of the country's people.

The relations in the last few decades have always been based on mutual respect and interests, despite the US-cooked tensions to escalated Iranophobia in the region.
