Iran Press/ Iran News: According to Iran Press, Mohammad Hossein Soltanifar, the new head of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Interests Section Office in Egypt, met with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Wednesday before leaving for the mission.
He also explained the meeting and his working plan for the upcoming period.
Efforts to improve Iran-Egypt relations after 43 years of rupture have once again come to the fore. During the last 10 years, media sources have repeatedly talked about the efforts of the two countries to converge and establish official relations, and sometimes hopes have increased in this regard, but no tangible results have been observed so far.
Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian also told reporters on Sunday: "We have not yet had a negotiation to improve relations and develop relations directly with the Egyptian side, but some efforts are happening that in the course of cooperation between Islamic countries, Tehran and Cairo, their relations will return to a normal state."
Amir-Abdollahian further explained that Iran's Interests Section Office is currently operating in Cairo, and that Egypt also has an interest Section office in Tehran.
Egypt is an important country in the Islamic world and the natural and developing relations between Tehran and Cairo are beneficial to both countries and the region.
