Tehran (IP) - The ceremony of the 39th edition of Iran's Book of the Year Award was held in the presence of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Book of the Year Awards is an annual award for books in the categories of religion, social sciences, language, applied sciences, art, and literature.

It is the most prestigious book award in Iran and is granted by the Iranian president during a ceremony.

The ceremony of Iran's book of the year was held on Tuesday, coinciding with the National Day of Pen attended by the media, publishers, juries, and the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili.

Esmaeili said in a speech praised publishing in Iran as one of the most prestigious areas, expressing hope that the obstacles in the way of the culture, arts, and media would be removed.

Noting that over 100k volumes of books were published annually, the minister of culture said publishing and media areas reached a spectacular growth after the Islamic Revolution victory, and that Iran was of a special place in publishing books in the region.
