Iran Press/ Iran News: A magnitude 6.3 earthquake and a magnitude 6.1 quake followed the 6.1 quakes that struck the village of Sayeh Khosh in Hormozgan. There were more than a dozen aftershocks.
According to Iran's Seismological Center, affiliated with the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, a magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km at 55.3 longitudes and 26.78 latitudes on early Saturday at 02:02:07 am (local time).
Iranian Navy Chief-Commander Rear-Admiral Shahram Irani said: "From today, the debris removal operation will begin seriously, and these relief supplies have made the people find relatively balanced conditions."
Referring to the extensive operations of the strategic navy of the army in escorting merchant ships and oil tankers of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the eight years of Sacred Defense until now, Rear-Admiral Irani said: "Certainly our presence in the seas is to establish maritime security and ensure the security of shipping lines will be done with more might."
"The strategic navy have escorted oil tankers with strength and authority during the eight years of Sacred Defense until today," he said.
He added: "Today, Iran's Navy is present at more than 2,000 kilometers in the oceans, and they are carrying out the same mission as before with more authority, using local equipment made by Iranian young specialists."
