Iran Press/ Asia: In the first part of his plans during the visit to Turkmenistan to attend the Sixth Summit of the Caspian Sea Littoral States Summit, Ebrahim Raisi met with the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
In a meeting with the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Raisi referred to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, saying: "Relations between Tehran and Ashgabat have always been expanding in recent years with your wise measures."
Raisi stated that the two countries have good capacities to improve the level of cooperation with each other, adding: "The current Iranian government has a special programme in the field of foreign policy to develop neighbourly relations and Iran-Turkmenistan relations are expanding rapidly based on extensive cooperation and mutual trust."
At the same meeting, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow also praised the Iranian government's efforts to strengthen and expand relations with the country over the past few months, saying: "The two countries have many common grounds and capacities, and this issue has provided a good ground for increasing and improving the level of relations as much as possible."
The Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan also said: "Turkmenistan seeks to open a new page in relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran."
