Armenia (IP) – Iranian chess grandmaster was crowned champion at the Armenian International Chess Tournament that was held in memory of Armenian chess player Grandmaster Manuel Petrosyan.

Iran PressAsia: The final round of the Tournament was held on Tuesday in Jermuk, Armenia.

Mohammad-Amin Tabatabaei overpowered Alexander Anatolyevich Donchenko, a German chess grandmaster, in 27 moves and was crowned champion of the international event with 6 points.

The victory raised his international rating to 2,665 and made him the 85th best chess player in the world.

He is to participate in the World Olympiad in India summer.
