Tehran (IP) – Iranian administration spokesman says that Iran has always taken an active approach to the talks on lifting sanctions.

Iran PressIran News: Attending a press briefing on the sidelines of today's cabinet meeting and in response to a question on the EU Foreign Policy Chief's visit to Tehran and the talks in Qatar, Ali Bahadori-Jahromi stated: "Iran has always taken an active approach to the talks on lifting sanctions, and the EU Foreign Policy Chief, Josep Borrell, and Iran have agreed to continue negotiations to resolve the problem of illegal and oppressive sanctions; they have also agreed to speed up negotiations."

The Doha talks are in line with the Vienna talks; Bahadori-Jahromi pointed out that, as in the past, Iran has direct negotiations with the European Union; he expressed hope that acceptable agreements could be reached.

Earlier, the EU foreign policy chief confirmed that Vienna talks between Iran and the European Union over reviving the shattered 2015 Tehran nuclear agreement, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), would resume in the coming days.

The EU foreign policy chief wrote in a Twitter message earlier that the Doha talks were aimed at making the JCPOA operational.
