AT least four people have been killed and hundreds injured after a stand collapsed during a bullfighting festival.

Iran Press/America: Several bulls fled the stadium into the streets of Tolima in fear as panicked revelers tried to help those trapped.

At least six people have died and more than 200 were injured after an accident occurred at the venue of a bullfight in Colombia. A child, two women and a man were killed in the horror incident, Jose Ricardo Orozco, the governor of the Tolima department, told a local radio station.

Nine festival-goers were also hurt after being charged at by a bull after jumping into the ring, reports say.

It's unclear what caused the stands to collapse.

Major Luis Fernando Vélez, director of Civil Defense in Tolima, said: "There is a patient with serious injuries, he was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he was stabilized."

Officials are now probing the cause of the incident.

Colombia's new president Gustavo Petro has called for bullfights to be halted. 219
