Tehran (IP) - EU foreign policy chief has confirmed that Vienna talks between Iran and the European Union over reviving the shattered 2015 Tehran nuclear agreement, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) would resume in the coming days.

Iran PressEurope: Joseph Borrell, EU foreign policy chief, arrived in Tehran on friday. He discussed with Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iranian Foreign Minister and Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

Borrell wrote in a tweet, "Important outcome of my visit to #Iran is that we deblocked recent deadlock and that halted Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action #JCPOA negotiations will resume."

In 2018, then US President Donald Trump withdrew from the JCPOA under which Iran agreed to impose restrictions on its nuclear programs in return for easing economic sanctions. Trump also re-imposed the crippling sanctions against the Iranian nation.
