Tehran (IP)- Iran's president, in his online speech at the BRICS Summit 2022 on Friday, said that Tehran is ready to share capacities in transit, energy reserves, and scientific achievements with BRICS members.

Iran PressIran news: At the official invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping as the periodic president of the BRICS, Iran's President, Ebrahim Raisi, attended the BRICS Summit 2022 and a number of countries known as BRICS Plus.

The president said Iran's unique political and economic geographical position could make it a stable and reliable partner for connecting BRICS to energy hub and significant global markets.

BRICS is the acronym coined to associate five major emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China (PRC), and South Africa. The BRICS members are known for their significant influence on regional affairs. Since 2009, the governments of the BRICS states have met annually at formal summits.

Iran's president also said that proposals such as the Global Security Initiative provide a good platform for shaping organized cooperation, and Iran is ready to share all its capabilities to achieve the BRICS goals.

"We are ready to share all our capabilities and potentials, including short and cheap transportation and transit networks, the exceptional asset of trained manpower as well as significant scientific achievements to [help] BRICS realize its goals," noted Raisi in the meeting was underway in Beijing.

He also said the "new and diverse" challenges in the current interconnected world affect global friendship and peace. Raisi underscored the need to boost interaction among BRICS countries in the face of new crises such as the coronavirus pandemic, climate change, and regional and international conflicts.

The president said there is a collective experience and will to overcome the existing problems, which would facilitate the realization of collective development initiatives.

"We need to strengthen the global platform for the effective role of independent multilateral institutions in achieving integrated development and global peace."

Moreover, the Iranian president said contradictory global approaches, unilateralism, nationalism, and challenges such as sanctions and coercive economic measures underscore the importance of "creating and strengthening new institutions alongside the United Nations" in an attempt to take an important step towards the realization of a "human society with a common future" while respecting the national sovereignty of countries.

Raisi emphasized that BRICS, as a pioneering group comprised of large emerging economies, has been able to launch new global trends by promoting its initiatives.

"With complementary economies and cultural diversity, BRICS members can meet one another's needs and share their national and indigenous development experiences to promote global prosperity."

He said the body has managed to play an effective role in advancing goals such as developing South-South relations, reforming the international financial system, and presenting ideas and initiatives by its members, which shows the group's innovative nature and its effectiveness in the current juncture and the future.

We believe in global justice, President Raisi said, emphasizing that it is an "undeniable necessity" to turn such an idea into dialogue on the international level.
