Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Foreign Minister says Iran and Russia agree to intensify joint efforts to expedite the full implementation of the two sides' agreements.

Iran PressIran News: In a tweet on Thursday, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian reported on his talks with the Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, who is on a two-day visit to Tehran at the invitation of Amir-Abdollahian.

Amir-Abdollahian tweeted: "Substantial talks with FM Lavrov to further enhance Iran-Russia cooperation. Also discussed regional & int'l developments. Both stressed that arbitrary & extraterritorial sanctions are illegitimate."

"We agreed to intensify joint efforts to expedite full implementation of our agreements," he wrote.

Lavrov met with Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi last night and held talks with the Iranian Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian.

Discussions on some international issues, including JCPOA, the latest developments in Ukraine, Syria, Yemen, and Afghanistan, as well as economic cooperation between the two countries, were among the issues that Sergei Lavrov and Amir-Abdollahian were scheduled to be discussed.
