2022 Asian Track Cycling Championship:

New Delhi (IP) – The Asian para-cycling championship in India kicked off Saturday and the Iranian athlete grabbed a gold medal in the 1 km individual pursuit men.

Iran PressAsia: The Asian Track Cycling Championships 2022 is underway at the Indoor Cycling Velodrome at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi from June 18 to 22.

The Iranian para cyclist Behrouz Farzad won the gold medal in the men's 1km individual pursuit of the Asian para-cycling championship.

Mehdi Mohammadi, another Iranian para cyclist, missed the match due to a problem at the start line.

Representatives of India finished second and third.

Para cyclists from 18 countries are participating in the competitions.

In addition, the Iranian national female team comprising Fatemeh Hadavand, Setareh Zargar and Maedeh Nazari finished fifth after recording 52 min 386 sec in the Women's team sprint. The men's youth sprint team will also face their rivals later.

The winners will qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
