Tehran (IP)- The Iranian Swimming Championship for the Disabled and Veterans started in Tehran.

Iran PressIran News: Swimmers from Thailand, Iraq, and Kazakhstan compete in the Asian Paralympic Games.

68 Iranian and ten swimmers from Thailand, Iraq, and Kazakhstan will compete in a two-day tournament.

Competitions are held under World Para Swimming (WPS) rules and regulations.

In an interview with Iran Press News Agency, Shervin Asbaghian, Iran's Vice President and Head of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, said: "Swimmers will compete in the Para-Asian and World Games in these competitions, and they have performed well so far."

The national swimming team for veterans and the disabled, which has participated in these competitions, is preparing to participate in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Türkiye.

The 2022 Islamic Solidarity Games will be the 5th edition of the event, scheduled to take place in Konya, Turkey, from August 9th to August 18th, 2022.

The event was initially scheduled to take place in 2021 but was postponed due to potential travel problems caused by COVID-19.
