Tabriz(IP): Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts said despite enemies' propaganda on Iranophobia, most of the people of the world are interested in traveling to Iran, which is shown in opinion polls and surveys.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts said that tourism diplomacy has a special place in the field of public diplomacy because tourism belongs to all people of the world.

In an interview with IranPress in Tabriz, Ezzatollah Zarghami stated that tourism diplomacy plays a vital role in introducing Iran's tourism potential, and said: Despite enemies' propaganda about Iranophobia, most of the people of the world are interested in traveling to Iran and visiting tourist places based on surveys and polls.

Zarghami said that given his visits to Iran's tourist centers and his conversations with foreign tourists, they acknowledged what they have seen in Iran is different from what has been done in negative propaganda against the Islamic country.

The Iranian Tourism Minister also stated that the government's priority is to remove barriers to tourism development with neighboring countries, which in the first step includes countries that share borders with Iran.

He further elaborated that Iran's initiative to launch "low-cost tourism" with Tajikistan was well received by the Tajik President during his recent visit to Tehran.

Iranians can travel to Tajikistan by private car.

Zarghami said that the comparative advantage of Iran and Tajikistan is Persian, and the common language plays an important role in developing tourism between the two countries. By solving the problems of land travel, Iranians can travel to Tajikistan by private car.

The Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts also stressed the importance of developing maritime tourism, stating that independent planning has been done for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and the transfer of tourists from Doha to the Iranian islands are among the most important of these plans.
