Pakistan's Foreign Minister announced that the country's top diplomat will pay a two-day official visit to Tehran on Tuesday at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart.

Iran PressAsia: The Pakistani Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Monday evening, stating that Bilawal Zardari pays an official visit to Iran at the official invitation of Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

The statement said: "Pakistan's Foreign Minister will exchange views with his Iranian counterpart in all areas of interest during this visit."

Pakistan's top diplomat will also meet with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and some other officials.

The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the two sides will examine all aspects of bilateral relations, including trade and economic relations, supply of electricity required by Pakistan from Iran, border markets, strengthening road and rail connections, and facilitating the movement of pilgrims.

During the visit, Iranian and Pakistani officials will also review the security situation in the region, with a special focus on developments in Afghanistan and South Asia, as well as the fight against Islamophobia.

The statement said that Zardari's visit to Iran is part of regular high-level diplomatic meetings between the two neighboring countries. The last meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Iran and Pakistan took place on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos on May 26.
