Tehran (IP) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, on the eve of the spiritual journey of Hajj and sending Iranian pilgrims to the pilgrimage, said that Tehran emphasizes holding a safe, peaceful, unifying and honorable Hajj.

Iran PressIran News: The first flights of the pilgrims of Hajj to Saudi Arabia took place this morning (Sunday) from Kerman Airport and the Salam Terminal of Imam Khomeini Airport in Tehran.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, wrote in a tweet on Sunday: "Thanks to continuous efforts of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization of Iran and the cooperation of other institutions, the divine duty of Hajj rituals will be fulfilled for the people."

In total, with 48 flights to perform Hajj this year, 11,300 Iranian pilgrims will depart from Imam Khomeini Airport.

The departure of Iranian pilgrims begins today and ends on July 3.
