Iran Press/ America: Three people were shot outside a graduation ceremony on the campus of Xavier University in New Orleans on Tuesday.
New Orleans police confirm three people were shot and taken to an area hospital by EMS for treatment.
NOPD said an elderly woman died as a result of the shooting. Two men suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say they have some people detained in connection with the shooting, and several guns were recovered from the scene.
According to NOPD, the shooting stemmed from a fight outside the graduation ceremony between two females.
WDSU confirmed that Morris Jeff High School graduation had just ended inside the Convocation Center.
Witnesses on the scene described a chaotic scene after the gunfire erupted outside.
