Tehran (IP): The First Event of International Privatization was held in Tehran in the presence of Iran’s parliament speaker and Iran's minister of economy, along with parliamentarians and economic activists.

Iran PressIran News: The opening of the event was held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, with the Director General of the Privatization Organization delivering speech; Iran's Minister of Economy Ehsan Khandouzi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf attendedthe event.

During the event, 16 specialized meetings with the participation of 100 domestic and foreign experts were held, reviewing two decades of privatization, offering the current portfolio of government shares for participation, and private sector investment.

By holding this international event, the Privatization Organization pursues aims such as preparation of a realistic report on the results of the divestitures according to the performance of the firms and companies in the post-divestiture period, creating a culture and enlightening the public about the goals, tasks and consequences of privatization.
 
Creating consensus between the various executive, supervisory bodies and senior officials on privatization with the approach of removing obstacles and facilitating successful transfers, benefiting from international experiences through the review of the privatization process in some countries, synergy and exchange of expertise between private sector activists, managers of divested enterprises and government officials and relevant experts are the among the main goals of the event.
