Isfahan (IP) - Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA) unveiled the "Simorgh" transport aircraft in the presence of the Iranian defense minister on Thursday.

Iran PressIran news: In the unveiling ceremony held in Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA) of Isfahan, central Iran, Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani said the light transport aircraft was a great help in serving people and executive agencies, both civil and military, of the county. 

General Ashtiani said Simorgh was a redesigned copy of its own generation fully appropriate to the needs of the civil and military organizations, in accordance with international standards, and compatible with Iran's climate. 

The avionics of the plane, its propulsion, new parts, and maneuverability were not comparable to similar models, the defense minister said, adding that aircraft redesigned by local experts, would provide new knowledge for designing and building more advanced ones.

Take-off and landing in short runways, agility in providing services such as aerial ambulance, and the capability of landing on dirt runways were among other futures of the Iranian aircraft 'Simorgh', mentioned by the defense minister.
