At a meeting with Iran's ambassador to Baghdad, the Iraqi Prime Minister emphasized the expansion of cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields.

Iran PressMiddle East: Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi on Wednesday met with the new Iranian ambassador to Baghdad, Mohammad Kazem al-Sadegh, referring to the bilateral relations between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran, al-Kadhimi said that the development of relations is in the interests of the two neighboring countries.

The Iraqi Prime Minister also wished success to the new Iranian ambassador in carrying out his mission and called for diplomatic action to implement common policies in the interests of the two countries.

The Iranian ambassador also praised the Iraqi Prime Minister's efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries and develop ways of joint cooperation in all fields.

Al-Sadegh also presented his credentials to Iraqi President Barham Saleh yesterday.

The new Iranian ambassador to Iraq, who has replaced Iraj Masjidi, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Sunday, May 8, on the eve of his departure.

Referring to the importance of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq as two important countries in the region, the Iranian Foreign Minister provided the necessary recommendations for expanding and strengthening ties between the two countries in various political, economic, cultural, public exchanges and other dimensions. 219
