Tehran (IP) - In a phone call with his Greek counterpart, the Iranian Foreign Minister discussed the latest state of negotiations on the lifting of sanctions and JCPOA revival and stressed the determination of the Islamic Republic of Iran to reach a good and lasting agreement.

Iran PressIran news: In a telephone conversation with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Saturday,  Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed some issues related to bilateral relations, as well as the latest status of negotiations for the lifting of sanctions against Iran.

Referring to the two countries' great potential for expanding trade and economic cooperation, he stressed the need to protect the long-standing relations between the two sides from the influence of some third-party actors.

During the telephone call, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias stressed the importance of relations between the two countries and the continuation of contacts between senior Iranian and Greek officials.

The two sides also referred to the historical relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of expanding relations between Athens and Tehran and the continuation of cooperation in international forums.

The eighth round of Vienna talks on removing sanctions, which began on December 27, 2021, entered a breathtaking phase on March 11, 2022, at the suggestion of EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, and the negotiators returned to their capitals for political consultations. 219
