Tehran (IP) - A group of Iranian journalists issued a statement, condemning the martyrdom of Shereen Abu Aqleh, an Al-Jazeera TV reporter in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Iran PressMiddle East: During an Israeli army raid in Jenin town on the northern West Bank, a shooting happened in which Shireen Abu Akleh was shot in the face and died soon afterward, and Another Palestinian journalist working for the Al-Quds-based newspaper was wounded, but he was stable.

A group of Iranian foreign policy journalists who work for news agencies and international dailies, and online media of the Islamic Republic of Iran calls for a severe response from the United Nations and human rights organizations in their statement to this heinous move of the Israeli regime to martyr journalists, especially Martyr Abu Allah. International condemnation and effective response to the criminal acts of the Israeli regime is the only way to confront the heinous act of the Israeli regime in martyring journalists.

The statement says:

In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, "Think not of those who are slain in the way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are living. With their Lord, they have provision," Al-Imran Surah, verse 169

We strongly condemn the crime of the Israeli regime in martyring the veteran Palestinian correspondent, Shereen Abu Aqleh, who worked for the Qatari Al-Jazeera news network while performing her humanitarian duty for the cause of Quds and Palestine.
