Mashhad (IP) - Eid al-Fitr prayers were held in the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Imam of the world's Shi'as, in Mashhad, the capital of Khorasan Razavi province, North Eastern Iran.

Iran PressIran news: Pilgrims and worshippers of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) observed Eid al-Fitr prayers under Imamate of Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Alam Al-Hoda, the Friday Imam of Mashhad, in accordance with health protocols.

Holy city of Mashhad has been hosting pilgrims from different cities of Iran for a few days now, approaching Eid al-Fitr.

After the Eid al-Fitr prayers, the servants of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), according to a long-standing tradition, performed the drumming ritual using the naqqāra, nagara which is a Middle Eastern drum and congratulated the pilgrims and the worshippers of the Razavi shrine on the arrival of this auspicious Eid.

After two years of restrictions due to the spread of COVID-19, this year, Eid al-Fitr prayers were held in more than 1,300 religious places and holy shrines throughout Iran in accordance with health protocols.
