Tehran (IP) - Following the continued politically-motivated detainment of an Iranian citizen in Sweden, the country's ambassador to Tehran was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and informed of the Islamic Republic's strong protest.

Iran PressIran news: In the Sunday session of Nuri’s trial, a brief of the Swedish prosecutor’s verdict against him to the court was read out according to which Nuri is sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Assistant Minister and Director-General for Western Europe at the Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the trial and detention of Hamid Nouri, under the influence of the false instigations of the terrorist group Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO), and the hostile atmosphere against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He also called for an end to the Swedish court's political show and the release of Nouri.

The Swedish ambassador Mattias Lentz said that Iran’s standpoints on the issue will be conveyed to the concerned Swedish officials by the embassy and the Iranian Foreign Ministry will be informed of their response.
