Iran Press/ Asia: In an interview with Iran Press, Abbas Hassanzadeh, the head of the Supreme Quranic Council in Kabul, stressed the importance of naming the International Day of Quds: "Al-Quds belongs to all Muslims, and Al-Aqsa Mosque is the first qibla of the Islamic Ummah, and all Muslims have a responsibility to defend the Palestinian people and the land of Al-Quds against the occupation of the Israeli regime."
Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, declared the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as World Quds Day to survive the fundamental issue of Palestine and to declare the solidarity of the Muslims of the world with the Palestinians, and to mobilize forces to save Al-Quds from the Israeli occupation.
Tomorrow, April 29, 2022, coincides with the 27th of Ramadan, 1443 AH, the International Day of Quds.

Hassanzadeh added that the nation of Afghanistan is part of the body of the Islamic community and considers it its duty to respond to the call of Imam Khomeini to participate in the International Quds Day march on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.
The head of the Supreme Quranic Council in Kabul stressed that International Quds Day is a good and effective day for the unity of the Islamic community against the Israeli regime in order to stand united against this regime and support the Palestinian people.
The head of the Supreme Quranic Council in Kabul, referring to the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli soldiers and settlers in the days leading up to International Quds Day, said: "This year, the Zionist movements against Al-Aqsa Mosque and the persecution of the Palestinians have increased, and Al-Quds Day is a day of universal support for the oppressed people of Palestine."
