Iran Press/ Iran News: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, referring to the participation of the Iraqi people in the numerous elections in this country, emphasized that Iran has supported the political process in this country and considers the existence of a strong Iraq as the guarantor of peace and security in the region.
Hossein Amir- Abdollahian on Wednesday, in a meeting with the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Mohammad Al-Halbousi, emphasized Iran's support for the stability of Iraq and said: "Iran considers its security as Iraq's security and Iraq's security as its security."
Amir- Abdollahian added that anti-revolutionaries and separatists should not find a safe base in Iraq to threaten Iran.
Iranian FM called the role of the two countries' parliaments important for enhancing relations.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also called the Zionist regime a threat to security in the region and said that the celebration of World Al-Quds Day is a step towards confronting the Israeli regime's conspiracies.
Mohammad al-Halbousi, in his turn, said: "Iraq has always benefited from the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran and is grateful."
The speaker of the Iraqi parliament added: "The Iraqi constitution does not allow individuals or organizations to operate against or threaten their neighbors."
Al-Halbousi thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support to Iraq in the face of the ISIS terrorist group and terrorism.
The speaker of the Iraqi parliament also called defending Palestine and opposing the actions of the Zionist regime a public demand in Iraq.
On Wednesday, the Iraqi parliament speaker, heading a delegation, arrived in Tehran's Iranian capital and met with top Iranian officials, including his counterpart Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Ibrahim Raisi, Iranian President.
