Iran Press/ Iran News: Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations said that to prevent a catastrophe with far-reaching effects, the historical and legal status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque must be protected under international law.
On Monday, Majid Takht-e Ravanchi criticized the UN Security Council's silence and inaction on the Israeli regime's crimes against the Palestinian people at the Security Council meeting.
"As long as the Security Council continues to be passive and silent on these crimes, the rights of the Palestinians will not be achieved," the Iranian envoy stressed.
The senior diplomat of the Islamic Republic of Iran added: "The continuation of the current stance of the Security Council toward Al-Aqsa Mosque has encouraged and emboldened the Israeli regime to continue its occupation and its crimes against the oppressed people of Palestine."
He said: "The crimes of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people are entirely documented and undeniable; They are considered war crimes under international law, and the perpetrators of such crimes must be brought to justice without further delay.
Iran's ambassador to the United Nations said the Security Council must fulfill its obligations to maintain international peace and security under the Charter and should hold the Israeli regime accountable through all legal means at its disposal.
Referring to the recent crimes of the Zionist regime in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Takht-e Ravanchi said that the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories has worsened with the continuation of the regime's racist policies and brutal crimes against the Palestinian people without any response from it.
"The Israeli regime has committed its crimes before the eyes of the international community and knows well that it will not face any consequences," he said.
Takht-e Ravanchi also referred to the Israeli regime's destabilizing activities in the region, saying that the Israeli regime violated its sovereignty and territorial integrity by openly threatening to use force against other countries in the region. It continues to be a real threat to peace and security in the region.
According to Iran's representative to the United Nations, The Palestinian conflict can only be resolved if the occupation ends and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people are fully recognized and protected. As a result, the sovereignty of the Palestinian people over the occupied territories will be restored.
In response to the baseless accusations of the Zionist regime's representative against Iran, Takht-e Ravanchi also stated that the Israeli representative, by resorting to lies and abusing the Security Council rostrum, once again made false claims against my country, which are categorically rejected.
Takht-e Ravanchi said: "These baseless allegations have been made only with the intention of diverting attention from the Israeli regime's continuous aggression against Palestine and the countries of the region."
"This is a futile act because the international community is well aware of Israel's lies and deception," he concluded.
