Qom(IP): The second ceremony of Holy nights of Qadr, the night of the martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS) was held in the presence of the people from all walks of life was held in the holy shrine of Fatima Masoumeh (AS) in Holy city of Qom in compliance with health protocols for COVID-19.

Iran Press/Iran News: Laylat Al Qadr, also known as 'Shab-e-Qadr,' the 'Night of Destiny' or the 'Night of Power,' is observed on the 27th Day of Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It is considered to be the holiest night of the year for Muslims and marks the night that the first verses of the Qur'an were revealed to the Prophet Mohammed.

 Also, the night preceding Imam Ali’s martyrdom is recognized to be one of the threefold Qadr Nights, when the Holy Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) more than 14 centuries ago.

The Shrine of Fatima Masoumeh is located in Qom, which Shia Muslims consider being the second most sacred city in Iran after Mashhad. Fatima Masumeh was the sister of the eighth Imam Reza and the daughter of the seventh Shi'a Imam, Musa al-Kazem(PBUH).

People all over Islamic Iran mourned on the second night of Qadr in the holy month of Ramadan and on the night of the martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS) on Friday night, and at the same time reciting the prayer of Jowshan Kabir and the Holy Qur'an to pray to Allah.

Pilgrims, people, and neighbors of the holy shrine of Imam Masoumeh (AS) on the night of the martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS), the first Shi'a Imam, attended the shrines of this shrine and the surrounding streets until dawn to mourn, recite the Holy Quran and the prayer of Joshan Kabir.
