Iran Press/ Iran news: Simorgh supercomputer is a significant step the Iranian experts take in artificial intelligence, which has a processing power several thousand times more than the most powerful desktop computers.
The latest hardware and software technologies have made Simorgh the best and most powerful supercomputer in the country.
Simorgh supercomputer has been a great honor for Iran's scientific and technological community. With the capacity of petaflops, the first phase has made Iran one of the 30 countries holding this technology.
Petaflop is a unit of computing speed equal to one thousand million million (1015) floating-point operations per second.
So far, 100 billion Tomans have been invested in building the Simorgh supercomputer.
"Seyed Ahmad Motamedi," the manager of the Simorgh supercomputer project, stated that this supercomputer is fully ready for service and said: "Increasing the processing capacity of one petaflop and five petaflops for Simorgh supercomputer is being planned."
The Manager of the Simorgh supercomputer project stated that the processing capacity of this computer is half petaflops and said: "We are looking to increase its capacity to 1- 5 petaflops in two stages."
Motamedi pointed out: In Iran, there is a need to increase the capacity of supercomputers to higher volumes.
