Tehran (IP) - In a telephone conversation with his Kuwaiti counterpart on Friday, Iran's Foreign Minister stressed the complete lifting of the blockade on the Yemeni people and humanitarian aid in the country.

Iran PressIran News: The UN's Especial Envoy for Yemen's Affairs reported the agreement between Sana'a and Riyadh on a ceasefire and mitigation of the blockade on the Yemeni people. 

Then the Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saeed Khatibzadeh, welcomed the UN envy's initiative to suspend military operations in Yemen for two months, allowing ships carrying humanitarian aid to enter the country and partially reopen Sanaa Airport.

Talking with Kuwaiti FM Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Iran's Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed dialogue and practical regional cooperation to shore up the region's security and development.

The Kuwaiti FM, for his part, expressed hope that the ceasefire between Yemen and Saudi Arabia would endure and the grounds would be prepared to settle the Yemeni crisis.

With the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, Saudi Arabia launched a military invasion of Yemen in March 2015 and a land, sea, and air siege.
