(IP)- A fire broke out Monday at an under-construction terminal at Kuwait International Airport.

Iran PressMiddle East: Following the incident, the Kuwaiti fire department announced that six teams had been sent to the scene to extinguish the fire.

The Kuwait International Aviation Authority said Kuwait International Air Traffic was operating normally and had not been affected by the fire at the new passenger terminal building.

The official spokesman for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Infrastructure, Ahmad Saleh, also said that firefighters were fighting the blaze.

The fire caused material damage but no casualties, and an investigation into the cause has been opened.

The cause of the fire has not yet been announced.
