The European Union (EU) coordinator for the Vienna talks said Friday that he will travel to Tehran on Saturday to close the gaps on reviving the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

Iran PressEurope: The eighth round of Vienna talks on lifting US sanctions against Iran resumed on February 8 in the Austrian capital after an 11-day break for consultations between the delegations and their capitals in the presence of the Iranian and P4 + 1 delegations (Germany, France, Britain, Russia, and China). It has been held in various levels and formats since then.

Also, the Vienna talks have advanced due to the Iranian side's initiatives. Yet, the Western parties' procrastination to compensate for the US violation of the internationally-signed JCPOA and its ongoing maximum pressure policy against Iran indicate the West's lack of tendency to wrap up the negotiations.

Enrique Mora, deputy secretary-general of the European External Action Service, said on Twitter that he plans to meet Iran's chief negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani in the Iranian capital on Saturday, as part of the efforts to close "the remaining gaps in the Vienna talks."

"We must conclude this negotiation. Much is at stake," he said. 219
