Yemeni sources reported an explosion in the city of Aden and the death of a senior UAE commander along with a number of his entourage.

Iran PressMiddle East: The city of Aden in southern Yemen is the headquarters of the elements of the "Transitional Council" - mercenaries affiliated with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Southern Yemeni Transitional Council was formed in 2017 following the ouster of former Aden Governor Eid al-Zubaidi by ousted Yemeni President Abd al-Mansour Hadi with the support of Abu Dhabi.

Russia Today quoted Yemeni sources as saying that a car bomb had exploded in the city of Aden, killing Brigadier-General Sabet Muthanna Jawas, along with his son and a number of his entourage.

According to these sources, Muthanna Jawas was one of the senior military commanders on the southern front and commanded most of the wars against the Yemeni revolutionaries.

Meanwhile, some media outlets and news sources published images of an explosion at a security post belonging to the UAE-affiliated Transitional Council in the Green Zone of Aden.

According to the report, the explosion occurred a few meters from a gas station.

According to Yemeni sources, several people were killed and injured during the blast. The bomber struck shortly afternoon in front of a UAE mercenary base, security sources said.

Currently, the southern regions of Yemen are witnessing unprecedented tensions between groups affiliated with the UAE, and it is said that a pervasive war between these mercenaries will soon begin in southern Yemen.
