Iran's Foreign Minister said Russia has once again reassured that remains onboard for the final agreement in Vienna.

Iran PressIran news: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Moscow on Tuesday at the head of a delegation to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov his Russian counterpart.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian wrote on his Twitter account: "I had a constructive meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister on bilateral issues, the talks in Vienna, Ukraine, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan."

Iranian Foreign Minister stressed: "Once again we were assured that Russia is still onboard to reach a final agreement in Vienna."

He added that more than ever, the ball is in US court to provide the responses needed for a successful conclusion of the talks.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stated in a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow: "Russia will not be an obstacle to reaching an agreement, and there is no connection between the developments in Ukraine and the Vienna talks."

Iran's top diplomat said: "Russia, as it played a very positive and constructive role from the beginning of the Vienna talks, will stand by Iran's side until the end of the talks to reach a good, strong and lasting agreement."

The Iranian Foreign Minister stated that the interruption in the Vienna talks could pave the way for resolving the remaining issues and the final return of all parties to their commitments in the JCPOA, adding:" Protecting the interests and principles of an independent and powerful Iran along with securing the definite interests of the Iranian people is a serious concern of the Iranian negotiating team."

Iran's international nuclear agreement or the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed between the country and P5+1 countries (Russia, China, UK, Germany, France, and the US) in 2015, but the US scrapped it on May 18, 2018, re-imposing more sanctions on Iran. 219
