Mashhad (IP) - Imam Reza holy shrine can be a hub of empathy, convergence and unity among Muslims and a center for resorting to teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (AS), says a custodian of Imam Reza holy shrine, in a meeting with members of the Supreme Council of AhlulBayt World Assembly.

Iran PressIran News: Referring to some services of his respected organization for foreign pilgrims, Ahmad Marvi said: “Imam Reza holy shrine hosts a notable number of pilgrims from different parts of the world every year. As a result, the holy shrine offers various services to Arabic, Urdu, Azeri, and English-speaking pilgrims”.

Pointing to an increasing number of foreign pilgrims before the coronavirus outbreak in Mashhad, he stated: “Most foreign pilgrims of the holy shrine come from Iraq.  Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India come next respectively. The holy shrine has considered special courtyards for offering cultural programs in Arabic and Urdu languages”.

Stressing that around 30 million people from Iran and other countries visit Imam Reza holy shrine every year, Marvi said: “Imam Reza shrine is trying to take advantage of the presence of pilgrims in Mashhad in order to promote religious insight and knowledge as well as Islamic values among them; this important mission is as important in relation to non-Iranian pilgrims as Iranian pilgrims.”

Custodian of Imam Reza holy shrine pointed to rendering appropriate cultural services to non-Iranian pilgrims and creation of effective contact with them as boosting factors for spirit of empathy and unity in the Islamic Ummah, noting: “Imam Reza holy shrine can be a hub of empathy, convergence and unity among Muslims and a center for resorting to teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (AS)”.

He stressed: “Pilgrimage has got a very great capacity; we are far from performing a perfect pilgrimage, however. We have to take better and more effective steps to that end”.

Marvi concluded his remarks by pointing to enemies’ moves for creating divisions in the Islamic Ummah, stating: “The arrogant front uses sectarianism in the Islamic world to create a rift in it to help arrogant countries follow their interests and goals; in some cases, they have been able to make illegitimate gains, unfortunately. Increasing religious insight and knowledge as well as boosting public awareness is part of effective methods to counter this enemy conspiracy”.
