Iran Press/ Iran news: Speaking on Sunday on the sidelines of the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding for Pars Oil Products Pipeline (Mehraran - Fasa - Shiraz), Javad Owji, told reporters that the Ministry of Petroleum was not kept waiting for the result of the Vienna talks, adding that an oil contract is being signed with local developers every two to three weeks.
He said that the 445-kilometer Pars Pipeline (Mehraran-Fasa-Shiraz) will be built using the financial resources of Tejarat Bank, adding today, banks can enter into oil industry projects.
"According to plans, an oil industry contract will be signed every two to three weeks using domestic funds,” he went on to add.
He pointed out that in the last six months, the Ministry of Petroleum has signed $4.5-billion worth of contracts to develop oil and gas fields using domestic and foreign resources. “We will sign a contract for developing an oil and gas field with its value chain with a consortium of domestic banks.”
In response to a question about whether Iran will become an importer of gasoline in the coming calendar year, the Minister of Petroleum noted: "This will not happen with the measures taken and the support of the members of parliament."
