Tehran (IP) - The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) says the West is responsible for the crises and wars triggered due to the resistance against the Western strategy.

Iran PressIran news: Rear Admiral Ali Shmakhani wrote in a tweet on Friday: "Nothing is more hateful than war, but when the West seeks to strike at the national security of nations in various ways. It is, in fact, directly responsible for the wars and crises that are formed in order to resist the West's strategy.

The head of Iran's SNSC also said on Thursday in another tweet the Ukrainian crisis could be a lesson to the West: "Collapse of financial markets & sharp rise in energy prices due to the crisis in the easternmost part of Europe, showed that instability & insecurity in all its forms in the eastern hemisphere will do serious damage to Western interests. Ukraine crisis can be an instructive lesson."

Russia has launched "a special military operation" in Ukraine on Thursday. Russia's President Vladimir Putin says he had no other choice than to launch the military operation to stop the Ukrainian military's interference in two eastern republics that have broken away from Ukraine. Russia perceives NATO's eastward expansion as a threat.

Still, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian noted in a tweet on Thursday: "The Ukraine crisis is rooted in NATO's provocations."

Ukraine knew itself as an ally of the US.
