Kabul (IP) - Afghan athletes, as well as the Afghan nation, have condemned the US government's move to freeze Afghan money to pay compensation to the families of the victims of 9/11 attacks.

Iran PressAsia: At the height of the economic crisis, poverty, and hunger in Afghanistan, US President Joe Biden, in addition to confiscating the country's assets, has allocated part of the money to pay compensation to the families of the victims of 9/11 attacks.

According to the US President's order, $ 3.5 billion of Afghanistan's assets in the United States will be allocated as compensation to the families of the victims of 9/11. The US government's decision has provoked widespread protests from various segments of the Afghan people.

Afghan youth and athletes protested in Kabul on Wednesday, calling on the country to "free the money of the Afghan nation." The Afghan athletes also chanted "Down with USA."

Afghan athletes and youth also read a resolution condemning the US act of stealing property from the Afghan people outside the UN office in Kabul, calling the US act against international law.

Demonstrators in Afghanistan have previously condemned the US government's blockade of Afghan assets and the allocation of part of them to the families of 9/11 victims.
