Doha (IP) – President announced Iran's readiness to cooperate and develop relations with African countries in various fields, including exporting technical and engineering services to these countries.

Iran PressMiddle East: In a meeting with Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, the president of Equatorial Guinea, on Tuesday on the sidelines of the Sixth Summit of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Qatar, Ebrahim Raisi stated: "Beyond its rich resources, African countries have hard-working people who can play an effective role in developing the continent."

Raisi noted that Western countries had plundered Africa's rich resources and workforce for centuries, maintaining their colonial spirit and changing only their colonial methods.

He said African countries have great potential for progress.

The president of Equatorial Guinea, for his part, described Iran as a great country and said that Western governments had colonized African countries for many years; he noted that today the African countries need to cooperate with countries like Iran to use Africa's rich resources for the benefit of the African people.

Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo said Western countries had no goodwill in dealing with African countries, and even if they provided limited aid, they would immediately make it conditional on actions by African countries that serve Western interests.
