Tehran (IP) - The Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan left for Tehran at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart to meet with the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran PressIran news: Iran and Pakistan have deep and extensive relations, and various meetings between officials of the two neighboring countries are held regularly.

According to Iran Press, Qasim Khan Suri, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, headed a parliamentary delegation and left Islamabad International Airport for Tehran this morning (Saturday) at the invitation of Ali Nikzad, First Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

In addition to meeting with his Iranian counterpart, the Deputy Speaker of the Pakistani Parliament is scheduled to meet with some officials of the Islamic Republic to discuss bilateral cooperation, strengthening economic, parliamentary and border relations.

This is Qasim Khan Suri's first official visit to Iran as Deputy Speaker of the Pakistani Parliament. His visit to Tehran comes just days after Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi's important visit to Islamabad.

In addition to Tehran, Qasem Khan Souri is scheduled to visit the holy cities of Mashhad, Qom and Isfahan.

The Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan on Friday  in Islamabad met with Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini Iran's ambassador to Islamabad and expressed confidence in the fruitful results of his upcoming visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran and pledged to expand close cooperation between two friendly, brotherly and neighboring countries.
