Israeli Prime Minister arrived in Bahrain on Monday for the first-ever official visit by an Israeli head of government as tension remains high in Sheikh Jarrah with the provocative return of right-wing Israelis to the Jerusalem al Quds neighborhood.

Iran PressMiddle East: Naftali Bennett is expected to meet Tuesday with the Bahraini king, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and his son, the kingdom’s prime minister and crown prince, Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The visit took place as extreme right-wing Israelis led by fascist Israeli lawmaker Itamar Ben Gvir returned to the Palestinian neighborhood this afternoon, provoking its residents and drawing confrontations.

According to witnesses, Israeli police raided several homes in the neighborhood and searched them, mainly those close to the Salem home where Ben Gvir and his gangs set up a base before they were forced to leave the area.

Police also reinforced the dozens of street surveillance cameras installed on poles in the neighborhood which the Israeli mayor of the Western part of Jerusalem al Quds said were necessary to expose those whom he referred to as “trouble makers,” in reference mainly to the Palestinian residents and their supporters.

The Israeli courts gave the Salem family until the end of March to evacuate the land and home it has lived in for decades in Sheikh Jarrah for the benefit of Jewish settlers.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned today the attacks carried out by extremist settler groups and the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian citizens to seize their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem as part of the policies of Judaization, colonial settlement, and forced displacement of Palestinian families in a flagrant violation of International Law and the Geneva Conventions.

The OIC warned in a statement of the danger of the continuation of the illegal Israeli occupation policies to displace the Palestinians and seize their homes, calling at the same time the international community to intervene immediately to put an end to these continuous violations and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
