The Leader's representative for Hajj affairs and the head of Iran's Hajj pilgrims, Hojjat-ol-Islam Ali Ghazi-Askar, has emphasised that Muslim unity frightens the enemies of Islam.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Sunday, Hojjat-ol-Islam Ali Ghazi-Askar said "It is a mistake to think that the 'disavowal of disbelievers' is a ceremony which creates tensions only in Islamic countries."

He added:  "Disavowal of the disbelievers is essentially a Quranic issue , and past Prophets of God (peace be upon them) have all declared their repudiation and disavowal of disbelievers , people who don't believe in God Almighty, and this is mentioned in the Holy Quran.

In further comments Hojjat-ol-Islam Ghazi-Askar said:  "If all Muslims gathering for Hajj, if they unite , and take on the disbelievers, how damaging that would be to the enemies of Islam, and how glorious it would be for the Muslim Ummah. If all Muslims were united and pooled together their financial resources, then no power in the world would be able to stand up to them."

The Leader's representative for Hajj affairs went on to emphasize the importance of Muslim unity. Hojjat-ol-Islam Ghazi-Askar said:  "God bless the founder of the Islamic Republic  of Iran, the late Imam Khomeini  and the Leader of the Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Seyyyed Ali Khamenei, both of whom have always insisted on the importance of 'disavowal of the disbelievers' , aiming to make it part of the culture of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.  I hope that one day we will achieve this objective".
