Japan (IP) - Iran's foreign minister stressed the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran for reaching a reliable agreement in Vienna talks to remove the US sanctions against Iran.

Iran PressIran news: The Foreign Ministers of Iran and Japan consulted in a telephone conversation on the topics of interest of the two countries.

The Foreign Ministry of Japan reported the telephone conversation of Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa and Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Thursday, February 3, 2022.

Yoshimasa highlighted the existence of grounds for further development of economic relations between Iran and Japan by removing existing obstacles and invited his Iranian counterpart to visit Tokyo.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian for his part also appreciated Japan for its commitment to contribute to the Vienna talks with the P4+1 group countries and stressed the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran for reaching a reliable agreement.

He welcomed the invitation of his Japanese counterpart for having a visit to Tokyo to shore up Iran's relations with its old friend Japan. 

The two countries' FMs talked about the bilateral ties of Tehran and Tokyo, as well as Iran's and Western Asia's status quo.

During the telephone call, the two sides discussed the development of cooperation between the two countries in various fields including the Vienna talks on Iran's nuclear agreement with the P4+1 group countries.

The chairman of the Iran – Japan Joint Committee of Commerce, Bahram Shakouri, said that recently, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) had prepared a package of cooperation with Iran.

"Recently, JETRO has prepared a package of cooperation with Iran and is interested in increasing relations, and this shows that the Japanese believe that sanctions against Iran will be lifted," Shakouri said.
