Iranian President also Congratulated his Chinese counterpart on Chinese New Year, a traditional celebration that falls on February 1, 2022, and begins a year of the Tiger.

Before this, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian congratulated on Tuesday the people of China on the occasion of the Chinese New Year. 

Moreover, President Raisi stated: "undoubtedly, with your wise leadership, the world will see the successful holding of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The Beijing Winter Olympics is the third world event in 2022, held on February 4 in Beijing.

Earlier, the US had announced a boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, followed by some countries, including Canada, Australia, and Britain, while other countries like South Korea, the US ally in the region, did not follow American decision.
A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Wang Wanbin, also said that the countries that decided to boycott the Beijing Winter Olympics would pay the price of their mistakes such as the US.
