Iran PressIran news: ‘Alafzar’ (meaning lawn), which is produced by Bahram Radan and narrates a judicial story in a court was screened on the second day of the national film festival on Tuesday.

He expressed his gratitude toward the judiciary, adding: "There were perfect interactions with the judiciary to make the film."

Kazem Daneshi, the director, also expressed hope to make and screen more of this sort of film.

The 40th Fajr Film Festival is held simultaneously on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

Established in 1982, the festival was set to be held under the title of “Fajr International Film Festival” during the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations, which are held every year from February 1 to 11 to commemorate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

Twenty-two films, mostly made by the new generation of Iranian filmmakers, are competing in the festival, which will be organized by a new team under its new president Masud Naqqashzadeh.

Following the management changes in the Cinema Organization of Iran, the new director of the organization, Mohammad Khazaei, ordered that the Fajr national and international film festivals be combined for 2022.

Yet, to avoid any confusion, the festival will not have an international competition section this year.

Moreover, this year instead of the red carpet, turquoise carpet is rolled out in the ceremonies of the 40th Fajr Film Festival ceremonies.

'Shadravan' screened

Written and directed by Hossein Namazi, the film 'Shadravan' has a comedy and social genre.

The film narrated the story of the sudden death of the father of a family, Nader, while his eldest son has to bear all the expenses of his father's burial ceremony.

The family has no income but selling vegetables.

Reza Roigari, Sina Mehrad, Galareh Abbasi, Nazanin Bayati, and Roya Teymourian star in the film.

Director: Shadravan is a melodrama

Hossein Namazi the director of Iran's Film 'Shadravan' (The Deceased) said Shadruvan is a melodrama, not a comedy. "Comedy has its own rules to make people laugh, and this film has neither the end of comedy nor the rules of the comedy genre."

Abbas Naderan, the producer of the film, also said: "In Shadervan, we worked together as a family in the middle of the fifth Corona wave, but all the members of the team did the best of their abilities."

The gender of Shadravan is a social melodrama, with a different atmosphere.
