An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 jolted Kermadec Islands region at 0246 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

Iran PressAsia: The epicenter, with a depth of 33.0 km, was initially determined to be at 29.8 degrees south latitude and 174.7 degrees west longitude, Xinhua reported.

New Zealand Civil Defence says there is no tsunami risk from the quake.
