Amir-Abdollahian, (R) And António Guterres (L)

Tehran (IP) - The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Secretary-General of the United Nations discussed the process of the Vienna talks on the phone.

Iran PressIran news: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in a telephone conversation with Antonio Guterres, welcomed the Vienna talks and reiterated the serious will of the Islamic Republic of Iran to reach a good agreement as soon as possible.

Amir- Abdollahian also continued by emphasizing the lack of trust in the rulers of the White House and the need for tangible and verifiable measures by the West and the United States to prove a lasting and reliable agreement.

He also referred to the situation in Yemen and the escalation of attacks on civilian areas, emphasizing Iran's continued approach to support a political solution to end the war in Yemen.

Amir- Abdollahian, referring to the UN approach to end the humanitarian siege, realizing the ceasefire, and holding political talks in Yemen, called for the UN Secretary-General to play a more significant role in ending the humanitarian siege and stopping the widespread bombing of civilian areas.

In the telephone conversation, the UN Secretary-General also appreciated and welcomed Iran's constructive positions in support of the peace process, the end of military strikes, paying attention to humanitarian issues, and the beginning of political talks to resolve issues and problems in Yemen.

Antonio Guterres also stressed the need to continue efforts to form an inclusive government consisting of different groups and ethnic groups in Afghanistan, as well as to create the right conditions for all Afghan citizens, especially women and children, to enjoy human rights and access to education.

The situation of Afghan refugees, the need to form an inclusive government in Afghanistan, and Iran's readiness to facilitate the delivery of international humanitarian aid, were other issues raised in Amir- Abdollahian's telephone call with the UN Secretary-General.
