Tehran (IP) – The Ministers of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan met in Tehran. They stressed developing defense and security cooperation between the two countries.

Iran PressIran news: The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan General Zakir Hasanov met with the Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani, and the two sides discussed crucial bilateral and regional issues.

General Zakir Hasanov has traveled to Tehran to meet with the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran to develop the defense relations between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Ashtiani stated that considering the historical and cultural commonalities between the two nations, it is necessary to develop mutual relations in various fields.

The Azerbaijani minister, for his part, appreciated the support of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress of the defense industry of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hasanov stressed the expansion of bilateral relations and invited his Iranian counterpart to visit Baku.
